    The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at Ball State is committed to providing exceptional service to students and their families who apply for financial assistance. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    We’ll consider you for admission if you’ve earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all transferable course work attempted.
  • Official Transcripts:
    All postsecondary institution's transcripts. You also must submit an official copy of your final high school transcript or an official GED score report unless you have earned an associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • SAT Scores:
    Submit your SAT/ACT scores to the Office of Admissions. If you haven't taken the SAT or ACT, you may be required to if you have earned less than 30 hours of transferable credit or if your cumulative grade point average is below 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Applicants with less then 24 completed college credits must submit a statement of good standing from prior institution(s).
  • Essay:
    There is a required 500 word maximum essay on the application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $55 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must complete 15 of your last 20 credits at Ball State to earn an associate degree, and 30 of your last 40 credits for a bachelor's degree.
