  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Nearly 95% of Austin College students receive some form of financial assistance. Financial assistance comes from a variety of sources, including Austin College’s own need-based grants and merit scholarships, as well as federal and state grant, work-study and loan programs and outside scholarship entities. The Austin College Office of Financial Aid is located in Wortham Center, Room 105.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer applicants who have earned a 3.00 or better grade point average in college coursework have a particularly good chance of admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all colleges attended are required. Applicants with less than 30 hours of transferable academic credit are required to submit their final high school transcript or GED.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants with less than 30 hours of transferable academic credit are required to submit official standardized test scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A College Official’s Form or Advisor/Counselor Recommendation Letter is required, as well as an Instructor Evaluation Form or Professor Recommendation Letter.
  • Essay:
    One Admission Essay (250-500 words; topic of your choice) is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no fee to apply.
  • Interview:
    An Admission Interview with a member of the admission staff is recommended for applicants, though is optional.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Credits presented from other institutions in which the student earns a grade of C or higher will be converted to course credit units at the rate of four semester hours equal to one Austin College credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 68 credit hours may be transferred from accredited two-year or four-year institutions consistent with the academic objectives of Austin College.
