Atlanta Metropolitan College (AMC) is a two-year unit of the University System of Georgia, offering day, evening, weekend, and online courses. The college is located in the southwest area of the city of Atlanta, and is positioned on an expansive beautifully landscaped campus. It is also conveniently accessible via MARTA (Atlanta’s public transportation system). Atlanta Metropolitan College provides a unique campus atmosphere for its students, offering degree programs in more than 40 areas of study.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA for transfer is a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions previously attended is required. You must submit your official high school transcript as well.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 30 hours of transfer credit, submit your official SAT/ACT scores. This is not required, but they may be helpful in determining exemption from taking the COMPASS Placement Exam or the Regents Exam.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $20 application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    An immunization record is required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Atlanta Metropolitan College accepts transferred credits from other colleges and universities with a course grade of “C” or better that satisfy curricular requirements.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of forty-five (45) semester hours of academic credit may be transferred to Atlanta Metropolitan College. However, all students must complete at least twenty (20) semester hours of their required coursework at Atlanta Metropolitan College.
