    Athens State University can assist qualified students with grants, loans, and scholarships from Federal, State, Institutional and other funding sources. Athens State University, the Athens State University Foundation and the University's Alumni Association offer more than 160 scholarships awarded annually.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Athens State has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale)for transfer.
  • Official Transcripts:
    All students must provide official transcripts from each college or university previously attended.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $30 application fee.
  • Interview:
    Athens State does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    ID documentation must be submitted in person or via a notarized copy through the US Postal Service. Coursework documentation must be submitted directly from each institution where coursework was attempted via an official institutional transcript.
