Antioch University Midwest, established in 1988, offers adults interested in furthering their education a range of graduate and undergraduate programs that are responsive to emerging societal needs. Each program emphasizes critical thinking, provides opportunities for collaborative learning, emphasizes cultural diversity and an international perspective, and promotes the integration of life and work experience with academic knowledge. We are proud to serve learners across their life spans. Antioch College has evolved into a multi-campus university of more than 4,000 students who study at the Antioch Yellow Springs campuses, and at campuses in Seattle, Washington; Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California; and Keene, New Hampshire.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended is required. (Be sure to include transcripts for programs for which no degree was awarded.)
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two references are required, and should be submitted from persons (excluding relatives) who currently know you and understand the academic interests you wish to pursue. Please have the reference use the form included with the application materials.
  • Essay:
    A Goal Statement (one double-spaced page) answering the question "What are your major life aims and how do you expect our program to help you achieve these goals?" should be typed and included in your application materials.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $45 application fee. This fee is waived if you apply by the Early Application Deadline (see below).
  • Other Requirements:
    Credits can be transferred from a variety of sources: another university or college; prior experiential learning; and examinations and other sources. Under certain circumstances, we also allow non-degree students to participate in our courses.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The Undergraduate Studies uses a quarter-hour credit system. Transfer credit is granted on a 1:1 ratio for other schools on a quarter system if a grade of "C" or better (or the equivalent) was earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Of the 180 quarter credits required for graduation, at least 68 must be completed in the The Undergraduate Studies. A max of 112 approved transfer credits may be applied a degree (of these only 90 may be lower-division).
