Our curriculum is based on developing strong foundational skills and knowledge from which students can improve their abilities as they complete challenging projects of progressive difficulty. We offer nine areas of study in our Bachelor of Fine Arts degree: Illustration, Illustration with a Specialization in Digital Illustration, Design, Multimedia/ Web Design, 3-D Modeling and Animation, Oil Painting, Watercolor Painting, Life Drawing and Photography.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students transferring from another institution of higher learning must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official transcript of grades must be sent directly from a high school and any post-secondary school attended to the American Academy of Art, Office of the Registrar.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $25 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    For studio art credit, the student must submit a portfolio of representative pieces from the course for which credit is sought.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    To be eligible for transfer of credit to the college, completed course work must have achieved a minimum grade of C and must be considered comparable in content, purpose and standards to the level of course work at the American Academy of Art.
