Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  The following awards are available to qualified full-time undergraduate day students at Alvernia University working towards their first bachelor's degree. ACT (Alvernia Connects with Transfers) Scholarship--$4,000. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship--$1,000.

Information for Transfer In Students

• Accepts Transfers:
  Yes, Alvernia is a transfer-friendly school.
• Transfer Applications Received:
  Alvernia receives approximately 500 transfer applications per year. Seventy-five percent of the applications are for the fall semester, the remainder for the spring semester.
• Transfer Applicants Enrolled:
  Each year Alvernia enrolls approximately 150 transfer students over the fall and spring semesters.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  2.0 GPA (higher for some majors) from a regionally accredited 2 or 4 year school.
• Official Transcripts:
  Official high school transcript or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) indicating successful completion of the program. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Nursing applicants must submit two letters of recommendation.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  C or higher
• Credits (Min/Max):
  A maximum of 75 credits will be accepted in transfer from a community college or a four-year university. Students must complete a minimum of 45 credits at Alvernia to receive their degree.
