  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    ACU offers merit-based scholarships for transfer students based on cumulative GPA. Your application for admission will serve as your application for a transfer scholarship. This award is renewable for up to six long semesters as long as a minimum of 3.0 GPA is maintained. Please complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after completing taxes. All financial aid programs require that students be enrolled at least 6 hours in a degree or certificate program at ACU and meet eligibility requirements.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Send your official transcript(s) to the Office of Admissions: ACU Box 29000, Abilene, Texas 79699-9000. ACU reserves the right to request a high school transcript for applicants with minimal transferable hours.
  • SAT Scores:
    We do require the ACT/SAT if you are transferring with less than 65 credit hours.
  • Essay:
    There is a required personal essay included on the application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer courses with a grade of C or higher from regionally accredited institutions will be posted to the student's ACU records and may count toward graduation if the credits are appropriate.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum number of transferred credit hours that may be applied toward an ACU undergraduate degree is 96. No more than 66 semester hours of credit may be from a community, junior or other two-year college.
