    About 55 percent of WVU Tech students receive some financial aid; almost half of the aid given to resident undergraduates is as grants and scholarships. January 1: As soon as possible after January 1, complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    In general the minimum GPA requirement is 2.0. However, there some exceptions for applicants to the College of Business, Humanities, and Sciences and Community and Technical College at WVU Tech.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if you are applying with less than 30 semester hours. College transcripts from every institution attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if you are applying with less than 30 semester hours.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Essay:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no application fee.
  • Interview:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Other Requirements:
    Prerequisites are required for admission to some programs. Students with less than 29 transfer credits must take orientation or freshman seminar courses designated within the academic program.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credits may be granted for courses taken at accredited four year and community colleges when a grade of at least a D has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A max of 72 semester hours of lower division credit will transfer from 2-years. Additional credit may be transferred from 4-years (TBD by the major department and Registrar). You will be required to complete 36 hours at WVU Tech to graduate.
