Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale on all college work attempted and eligibility to re-enter the institution last attended are required to be considered for transfer admission. Transfer applicants who were not eligible for admission to Auburn when they graduated from high school must present a minimum of 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of college credit. Transfer applicants (from both on and off campus) to Architecture, Interior Architecture and Building Science in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction must meet all university requirements and must have a minimum 2.80 cumulative GPA.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer applicants must provide of?cial transcripts (not duplicated/faxed copies) from each college attended, including any at which the applicant enrolled while in high school. Official high school transcripts may be required of some applicants.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official standardized test scores may be required of some applicants.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    A $50 processing fee (international application processing fee is $60), payable by check, money order or credit card, must accompany all admission applications and is neither refundable nor applicable to other fees.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    The Transfer Plan of Study is a document that all transfer students must complete AFTER being accepted into Auburn University and paying the $200 confirmation deposit.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The dean will determine acceptance of D grades. Credit in freshman English is allowed only on grades of C or better.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum credit allowed for work completed in a junior or community college will not exceed the number of hours required in the first two years of the student's curriculum at Auburn.
