  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Scholarships can be awarded to transfer students for a number of qualifying criteria — grades, lifestyle choices, talent, affiliations — the list goes on and on. The Transfer Achievement Award is available for Arizona residents who transfer from any Arizona community college, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.

    Total Estimated Cost of Attendance: $30,556 (In-State); $49,396 (Out-of-State). This includes base tuition, fees, on-campus housing, meals, books, supplies, transportation, and personal incidentals.

    ASU will NOT accept credit awarded by postsecondary institutions for life experience.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students with more than 12 transferable credits must have a minimum cumulative transfer GPA. Transfer students who have earned an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (Arizona residents) or 2.50 cumulative GPA (non-residents).
  • Official Transcripts:
    ASU requires official college transcripts from all previous institutions attended. If you haven't completed an associate degree or 24 transferable semester credit hours, you must submit and an official high school or GED/HiSet transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    If applicable, have your ACT or SAT scores sent directly to ASU.
  • Application Fee:
    $50 (Arizona residents); $70 (non-residents).

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    ASU accepts college-level (not remedial) courses in which you have earned a grade of “C” (4.00=“A”) or better from regionally accredited colleges and universities.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 64 semester hours of credit will be accepted as lower-division credit when transferred from a regionally accredited community, junior or two-year college. An unlimited number of credits hours will be accepted from four-year institutions.
